Hi! My name is Simone Samuels and welcome to my little corner of the web!
Writing these “About Me” pages have always proved challenging because it’s hard to put me in a box (and I tend to think outside of the box, hence my logo, :)). Besides being a graduate of York University, Glendon Campus (B.A. (Hons.)) and McGill University (LL.B., B.C.L):
- I’m a writer.
- I’m a food blogger.
- I’m a fitness professional.
- I’m a vlogger.
- I’m a consultant
I’m a writer.
Writing is my earliest hobby and one of my fortes. Most of my writing nowadays can be found on my personal blog, but I try to do more freelance writing when I’m… “free”. You are welcome to check out the writing tab to see the latest things I have written and published.
I’m a food blogger.
I love everything about food! I love shopping for food. I love cooking food. I love eating food. I love working off food… I just love food! And I love food so much that I started a food blog a few years ago. I used to be a vegan (yes, one of those people), but ever since I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis I’ve had to change the way I eat and view food. Join me on my food journey and kitchen adventures as I try to figure out what to eat!
I’m a fitness professional.
I am a licensed Zumba and Aqua Zumba instructor, I am a certified group fitness and aqua fitness instructor and personal trainer. I teach at a few fitness centres in Toronto and online.
I’m a vlogger.
My YouTube channel is an outlet to share everything that I’m passionate about:
Cooking
Join me in the kitchen as I cook up my favourite healthy meals.
Sipping with Simone
An in-depth, personal and authentic vlogging series and conversation where we sip tea, “spill tea,” and talk about the things no one is talking about.
Workouts
I post vids of some of my Zumba/Aqua Zumba choreo, as well as workouts.
I’m a consultant.
I am regularly invited to speak about race and racism, inclusion and diversity, as well as financial aid. I am a multiple-scholarship winner and a law school graduate, and I would love to help you reach your educational goals.
I won about $90 000 in scholarships. You can read more about that here.
I am also often invited to provide commentary to the media based on my fitness expertise.
Basically, I’m a creative person. I like to think of innovative, out-of-box ways to do things and live better. That pretty much sums me up. 🙂 Feel free to poke around my website and reach out to me if you would like to work together.
