September is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Month! As you all know, I have polycystic ovary syndrome (among other things — every year I discover something else, lol).
There have been many PCOS summits that I have attended as a patient but there has been none from a weight and gender inclusive standpoint.
As a patient and professional I want to change that.
From September 25 to 27, 2024 I hosted a free virtual summit with professionals like Dr. Asher Larmie (“The Fat Doctor”) and Sarah O’Hara, Registered Dietician. It will consist of workshops and webinars, and you’ll have ample opportunities to ask questions.

This is important, because a focus on weight loss is NOT the answer to managing PCOS (and that’s not just an opinion — research is finally catching up with what I’ve been saying for years).
As I do every year, this month I’ll be posting mostly PCOS related content, especially from my perspective as a weight inclusive personal trainer who happens to have PCOS.
As the leading cause of infertility, affecting at least 20% of women (and that doesn’t even include trans and non-binary people because they are often excluded from research), you know someone with PCOS.
You may not realize you know that someone with PCOS, and the people who have PCOS may not realize that they have it, but PCOS is prevalent, common and widespread. Particularly because it unfortunately takes a decade to get answers and diagnosis from a doctor, and because of the widespread effects of PCOS (not just reproductively but metabolically, cardiovascular-wise etc.) it’s important that we all raise awareness of this condition and advocate for ourselves and others.
